The Hornby Bus operates from the end of June until the beginning of September. The bus is scheduled to arrive at the Hornby ferry terminal, if on schedule, at 5 minutes to the hour (note there is a short mid afternoon gap).
This should allow departing passengers to quickly load the departing ferry and arriving passengers to be waiting at the bus stop (across from the boat ramp driveway). Patience may be required if either the bus or ferry are running off schedule.
In a perfect world, the bus and ferry services coordinate.
Denman launches the ScuttleBus, and who rides it? ScuttleButts of course. For a fun tour of Denman or a scenic ride to the next ferry, check it out!
BE AWARE: The ScuttleBus is "dark" on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so don't go looking for a ride then.

Access to Helliwell and Tribune Bay Parks, and also to the Whaling Station Bay neighbourshood. We're running a pilot project of 3 runs a day to Whaling Station, Helliwell Park, and Tribune Bay Outdoor Education Centre. Parking can be tricky in busy areas, so save finding a spot by riding the bus!
There is a bit of a walk from the bus stop if your destination is Helliwell Park, so be prepared to enjoy the extra hike.
This year the mid-day gap has been removed. One of the focuses is to serve the Farmers' Market for their full hours of operation. This year the market is open 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Parking is an issue, hop on the bus and leave your car at home!
Twelve hours/day you can catch the bus. Moving people, not cars is our motto.
Jon Laskin, from Hornby Island Bakery & Pizzeria, will randomly come onto the bus once/week and award a large pizza to some lucky rider.
If you like playing cards, you'll love this cross promotion.
There is a cookie "shoe" on the bus.
When you get onto the bus, take a card.
It will be redeemable for a free cookie at Hornby Island Bakery & Pizzeria.
If you're lucky and get a JOKER - it's your choice of sweet treat.
